MAJOR RESEARCH INTERESTS
• Research on genotypic/phenotypic variability of autosomal dominant cerebellar ataxias.
• Genetic and physical mapping of genetic diseases by means of highly polymorphic DNA markers.
• Population and evolutionary studies of human mtDNA and Y chromosome.
• Research on human genetic variability as revealed by protein and DNA polymorphisms.

RESEARCH FUNDING
She had been national scientific coordinator (in 2003) and local scientific coordinator (in 2005 and 2007) of two-yearprojects financed by Italian University and Research Ministry(MIUR) within the Scientific Research Programs of National Interest “(PRIN); furthermore she has participated in several projects financed by CNR and UE.

EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES
Since 1995 she taught courses in the fields of Human Genetics and Population Genetics for the First Level degree (laurea) courses in Human Biology, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Chemistry and Life Sciences, and for Master Degree (laureamagistrale) course in Biology and Human Evolution.
She is currently teaching Geneticsfor the First Level degree (laurea) courses in Life Sciences.
2004-today she is coordinator for the ERASMUS programme concerning mobility of students for the courses in Biological Sciences.
